Technical Manager

Responsibilities

Managing chemistry technical team that provides a comprehensive technical support for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within the Chemistry discipline. We are responsible for maintaining and running chemistry teaching and some instrumentation laboratories within the School of Chemistry, Food and Pharmacy. We also support researchers in a wide range of services, such as training in the operation, troubleshooting, installation, calibration, and preventative maintenance of laboratory equipment. We are additionally involved in Open Days and widening participation events such as Salters' Festival of Chemistry, AToM day, Flavourist training course, ASE conference, FATI Course, etc.

Other responsibilities:

Permit-to-Work issuer: authorising and approving the work under a permit-to-work scheme in Chemistry and Harry Nursten Building teaching and research laboratories.
